Before and After care

For the first 24 hours...

The first 24 hours are crucial for ensuring your extensions are long lasting.

Avoid breaking down the adhesive bond of the eyelash extensions by following these simple steps:

  • Avoid getting your eyelashes wet.
  • Avoid steam from saunas, swimming, showers or jacuzzis.
  • Do not use sunbeds.
  • Do not brush your eyelash extensions or move them excessively.
  • If you use contact lenses, wait 24 hours before reinserting them.
  • Do not undergo eyebrow treatments such as tinting or waxing.

Important tips

  • Eyelashes should not be permed or tinted for at least 72 hours prior to having eyelash extensions applied.
  • Do not use mechanical or heated curlers on your eyelashes.
  • Be gentle with your lashes - try to avoid rubbing them or touching them.
  • Be careful when applying sun cream or touching them.
  • Use oil-free makeup remover to clean your eyelashes and eye area.
  • Do not use any oil free (waterproof) mascara

Protecting your skin before, between and after sessions.

Before you begin your laser course you MUST have a patch test regardless of if you have had laser treatment elsewhere and have been lasered more than 1 year ago on our machine.

You must inform your therapist of any changes to mediation or pregnancy before each session.

Before treatment:

  • The area being lasered needs to be shaved 24 hours before treatment (not before patch test).
  • Avoid skin exposure to UV (sun or sunbeds) or self tan 2 weeks prior to treatment.

During and after treatment:

  • Avoid exposing skin to UV light (sunlight or sunbeds) or self-tan for at least 2 weeks after treatment. This is to minimise darkening of the skin (hyperpigmentation).
  • Avoid heat treatments such as spas, steam rooms and saunas for 7 days.
  • Avoid excessive scrubbing or applying pressure to the skin for 4-5 days. This is to allow the treated skin to recover and to prevent any infection.
  • Avoid shaving the treated area for 72 hours after treatment.
  • Avoid exercising for at least 48 hours.
  • Avoid hot baths and hot showers for 48 hours.
  • Avoid anything that involves chlorine (e.g swimming) for 48 hours.
  • Avoid make-up on the treated area for at least 48 hours.
  • Avoid the application of perfumed products or bleaching creams for 48 hours.
  • Avoid scratching the treatment area if blistering or crusting occurs, as this can cause scarring.
  • Avoid waxing, tweezing and threading for the complete duration of the treatment course.
  • Do not use active cosmetics which contain Retinol or AHA when on your treatment plan.
  • Do not exfoliate or have a peel for 1 week after treatment.
  • SPF is advised whilst on the treatment plan.

For the first 24 hours...

  • Avoid direct contact with water.
  • Avoid saunas and steam rooms.
  • Avoid swimming or exercise that could cause excessive perspiration.
  • Avoid covering and sleeping on the lashes as this will cause the lashes to distort.
  • Do not apply lash extensions or strip lashes.
  • Do not perm lashes or use heated curlers.

Immediately after treatment, the sensation is similar to sunburn which resolves after a couple of hours.

  • The area may weep for a day or so afterward, but this is a normal reaction.
  • The treated area will be red and may be itchy - leave well alone and apply Dry Healing Balm.
  • As the area begins to heal, it will dry out and a brown crust develops. This will eventually flake off naturally.
  • DO NOT PICK OFF the crusts as this can lead to infection and scarring/pitting.
  • Keep the area clean and dry and always use the Dry Healing Balm if you are outside.
  • Pat skin dry after showering/bathing.
  • Always use an SPF Factor 50 suncream.
  • Use daily skincare routine after 24 hours.

It is important that you AVOID the following within the specified period after your treatment:

  • No make up for 48 hours
  • Avoid excessive heat ( sunbeds, saunas, steam rooms, hot baths, intense exercise ) for 48 hours
  • No swimming for 7 days
  • Avoid treating your skin with any facials / exfoliating treatments for 14 days

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any concerns or queries.

What to expect:

While this peel is formulated to be gentle, you may experience mild peeling and redness on your journey to relieving fresh, glowing skin.

Step 1: Sunscreen

Use sunscreen with an spf of at least 30 at all times for at least a week. It is recommended that you continue to use these products to help protect your skin and maintain the benefits of the peel.

Step 2: Avoid too much sun exposure

Too much sun exposure may cause improper healing and in some cases can reverse the effects of the peel.

Step 3: No exfoliation

Treat the skin gently and avoid exfoliation. Although you may experience mildly dry red or flaking skin for several days after your peel, do not pick at the peeling skin.

Step 4: Products to avoid

Avoid alpha and beta-hydroxy acid products, retinoids, retinols and facial products containing fragrance for a few days after the peel instead use Obagi hydrate.

We recommend that you adhere to the following advice after having microdermabrasion treatment.

For 12 hours

Do not wear heavy make up.

For 24 hours

No swimming, facial waxing or fake tan application.

For 48 hours

No sauna, sun beds or sun exposure. No anti wrinkle injections, collagen injections or dermal fillers.

For 72 hours

Do not use any anti-ageing creams, AHA's, glycolics, retinol or exfoliating products.

At all times during a course of microdermabrasion SPF 30 minimum must be applied and exposure to UV should be avoided. Regular moisturiser applications are vital to replenish moisture and prevent the skin from becoming dry and peeling.

Be aware if you skin feels hot, splash with cold water, pat dry and moisturise regularly with a hydrating moisturiser.

Skin may appear red after treatment, this is perfectly normal and any redness will generally subside within 72 hours.
